Deer Creek Diagnostics

Mobile service · Tazewell & Woodford Counties, Illinois

The shop comes to your driveway.

Deer Creek Diagnostics is a one-person mobile repair operation. I diagnose and repair your vehicle where it sits — at your home or workplace — so you are not arranging a tow, a ride, or a day off work.

How an appointment works

  1. Call or email with the vehicle and the symptom.I ask for year, make, model, engine type, and what the vehicle is doing. Some work is outside what a mobile setup can do safely — it is better for both of us to find that out on the phone than in your driveway.
  2. I come to you and diagnose.Work is performed at your location, on a level and hard surface with room to work safely.
  3. You get a written estimate before any repair begins.Nothing is repaired without your authorization. If the diagnosis changes what the job needs, you hear about it before the work happens, not after.

What I work on

Gasoline vehicles, with limited hybrid and diesel service. Light-duty passenger vehicles and pickups.

Diagnostics

  • Check-engine and warning lights
  • OBD-II and manufacturer code scanning
  • Drivability complaints
  • Electrical faults and parasitic draw
  • No-start and intermittent problems

Brakes & chassis

  • Brake pads, rotors, calipers, hoses
  • Shocks, struts, and springs
  • Steering and suspension components
  • Wheel bearings and hubs

Starting, charging & electrical

  • Batteries, cables, and terminals
  • Alternators and starters
  • Charging-system testing
  • Exterior and interior lighting
  • 12-volt and body electrical

Cooling & accessory drive

  • Radiators, hoses, thermostats
  • Water pumps and cooling fans
  • Belts, tensioners, idlers, pulleys
  • Overheating diagnosis

Air conditioning

  • Performance testing
  • Leak detection
  • Recovery, evacuation, and recharge
  • Compressor and component replacement
A/C work is screened by model year and system type when you book. Not every system can be serviced in a mobile setting, and some repairs require removing the dash — those are referred out.

Maintenance

  • Oil and filter service
  • Cabin and engine air filters
  • Spark plugs and ignition coils
  • Fluid checks and top-offs

Hybrids

  • Conventional engine and 12-volt work
  • Brakes, suspension, and steering
  • Diagnostic scanning
High-voltage systems — traction battery, inverter, orange cabling, and electrically driven A/C compressors — are not serviced.

Light-duty diesel

  • Brakes, suspension, and steering
  • Batteries, starting, and charging
  • Cooling system and accessory drive
  • Oil, filters, and A/C service
  • Fuel and water-separator filters
Engine and high-pressure fuel-system work is not performed. Diesel complaints are discussed at booking.

What I don't do

A mobile operation has real limits, and saying so up front saves you a wasted appointment. If you need any of the following, I will tell you on the phone and point you toward someone who can help.

  • Collision, body, and paint work
  • Tires, mounting, balancing, and alignments
  • Internal engine and cylinder-head work
  • Transmission, transfer case, and differential internals; clutch replacement
  • Anything requiring a lift, press, or welding
  • ADAS camera and radar calibration
  • Battery-electric vehicles
  • High-voltage hybrid systems
  • Roadside and breakdown response
  • Manufacturer warranty and recall work
  • Emissions-control removal, deletes, and tuning that defeats emissions equipment
  • Repairs that would leave the vehicle disassembled overnight
  • Fleet and commercial service accounts

Request an appointment

Send a request below and I will confirm by phone. Requesting a time is not a confirmed appointment until we have spoken about the vehicle and the symptom.

If the form does not load, call (309) 259-5969 or email info@deercreekdiagnostics.com.
